Happy Halloween!! Here we have the Good Morning Girls on their way to school.

And if you look scarefully you'll see my Dad and Sharon. I love it.

Here are two hats I made for Amy. I sent 3 hats and a scarf her way today. She should see them Thursday. I am trying all different ways of making brims. I should write down my patterns so I remember them.

Jessica IMed me today. It was so nice talking with you honey. And there is a bag of dog food on the front porch for you. It cost $24. Thanks for letting me borrow the puppy diaper.

Steffi went Trick or Treating 3 times tonight, she has a lovely sack of candy. We took Nick to Taco Bell for dinner, then we went to Hobby Lobby just to look but ended up buying 3 skeins of yarn and the looms I want for Christmas. I am so spoiled. We went to WalMart too and then came home. Terry wanted to play his game.

I want to go hang out with Steffi, so goodnight. Good talking to you tonight Dad. Love the picture and I'll tell Amy about the Care-O-Van.

Terry played hooky from school tonight which was a much needed break from the day. First we woke up to no internet and we knew that was coming. See I use bill pay to pay the bill, so when the bill comes in the mail I just file it. But what we didn't know was the TWC had sold our account to Comcast and changed the account number, but when the bill pay check was sent to TWC, Comcast was not paid. TWC did not return our checks or transfer the funds they knew didn't belong to them to Comcast and we had been contacting them since Oct9th. Great job TIME WARNER CABLE. and no more just filing bills for me.

Anyway all fixed, yippee. Note to self, check the account numbers.

We ate dinner at the BX. I had a huge Philly steak sandwich and an A&W rootbeer, Nick had pizza and Steffi and Daddy had chicken and fries. A cute story, a man walked up to the counter looking like little Randy at the glass window from A Christmas Story. He's all happy looking at all the food, then he wanders to the next window and there's more food, and then he's back to the first window. I said he looked like a man out without his wife and there were all these wonderful choices. Terry didn't think it was funny cause he looks the same.

After dinner we went to the Boardwalk. They had a haunted house and it was SPECTACULAR. We screamed and freaked out and laughed and screamed some more. The drama club put on the spook. I hope they make a few bucks, it was worth it. After that a young woman jumped on us offering hand lotion and I yelled NO right in her face. I was still freaked out from the spook house and wasn't too sure why we were getting jumped on by strangers waving bottles in our faces. We ended up buying the lotion they were very persistant. Steffi fell in love with the nail emery board. I got some lotion that is named Ocean. Then it was off to The Chocolate Crocodile for some treats and a long ride on the trolley. I could ride that all day and night.

We meant to go home but ended up on base to see their haunted house. It was a long wait and very hard to see inside the building, I got the honor of touching the guy who had just been electrocuted but Steffi got so scared she started to cry, a guy came after her with a knife. I crashed into something and there's a nice lump on my shin. heehee, the ghouls beat us up. There were some tiny kids in there and they were really scared.

A tough start for today but a great finish. I'm off to finish a hat for Amy.
I miss you Dad.

Happy Halloween.

Don't belt me Amy, but I cried about your cancer. I couldn't help myself. Who hears their best friend since highschool has third stage lymphoma and doesn't feel scared? I worked on and off all day making you theeeee perfect chemo hat, but I think in the morning I will rip it out again and start over. I want it perfect.

This is what Amy told me she has....

extra nodal (outside the lymph nodes)
Non-Hodgkin's Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Stage 3.
14.8 cm mass (softball size) in the anterior
mediastinum or behind the breastbone pressing on the
arteries and veins connected to the heart increasing
my heart rate and shutting off the air flow to the
lower lobe of my left lung; blood clot in upper left
arm caused by impaired circulation, thus the swelling;
small mass in upper lobe of right lung; golf ball size
mass on right kidney; small mass on tail of pancreas;
small mass on right adrenal gland; tiny mass in left
eyeball causing my double vision; tiny growths too
small to measure throughout chest cavity. Apparently
the lymph nodes attract infection and mine were
working overtime! (Which is good. I'm not complaining.
Lymphoma is totally treatable.)

So please when you say your prayers tonight say one for Amy. I wish you could read the whole story of her chemo and hospital stays.

Terry Nick and I watched The Omen tonight. Steffi had already seen it. Yuck, it was scary.

Terry made pancakes for lunch today and Steffi made red beans and rice for dinner. I did most of the laundry.

And now we need to sleep. Goodnight. God Bless You Amy!!

It was a long quiet Saturday and we did next to nothing. Sweet Steffi did make my bed. It's so nice knowing when I go to bed it will already be made. Thank you honey. She also crocheted a scarf for my snowman. Cool, you're a kewl kid.

I loomed on the red piece a lot today and accidentally dropped one thread and one whole stitch but was able to pick them both up. I'm really excited cause it takes of bit of concentration fixing garter stitches. You have to hold the crochet hook one way for one stitch and pull the yarn through then the other way for the next stitch. It's really hard to explain. But once you figure it out it's easy.

Terry and Steffi are watching Pride and Prejudice. The watched the original version Friday night. I did not want to watch the remake again even though it is a good movie. I didn't watch the original because it wasn't captioned.

I made chili pie for dinner and corn. We talked about the drought in Australia and the freeze and wonder how all the immigrants will eat if there is no food? I wish we could send Eileen some bananas. I brought up the Pangaea again since that's the only thing I've learned lately and Terry brought up the fact that the earth has two crusts. Nick felt ill that he learned something on Saturday. Steffi ate her chili pie but only cause Daddy made her.

I think today was Chrissy's birthday. Happy birthday puppy.

Here's some drop stitch recovery pictures to help me remember how I did it. First is the dropped stitch. I am holding it with the crochet hook.

First you need to follow the loops up to the peg and gently pull them off down to the dropped stitch.

There are two sets of ladders, one is the purl stitch and one for the knit stitch.

To pick up the purl stitch I need to have the crochet hook under the ladder. Hold the yarn loop that's on the hook and gently pull the ladder through. To do the knit stitch hold the hook so the hook end is pointed away from you. Reach the hook down below and pull up the knit ladder, make sure you grab the right yarn.

Keep going, pull this last loop over the peg.

Hurray I did it. Gently pulling the stitches around the repaid evens them out.

Repeat for the dropped thread.

Tomorrow I will take a picture of what I have finished so far. The knit purl tip is so amazingly fast. Why did I ever do anything else?

Goodnight.

Here we have the Good Morning Girls catching a ride to school with Terry. Good morning Girls, heehee.

I am making something on the yellow kk loom. Maybe I will put it on the table as a decoration, it's just a huge garter stitch panel. I'm really loving the garter stitch right now. I used 3 strands of fine yarn held as one. It is the beautiful red yarn Anita sent to me. But I was so frustrated this morning when I found a slipped thread. Note to self, stop working on the loom when your eyes are tired!!

My choices were to frog it and start over again or to fix it with a crochet hook. Let me tell you it was tricky but I did it. Can you see the slipped thread in the white oval below? I didn't skip a whole stitch, just one of the threads.

First of all I had to unpeg the whole column of stitches down to the missed thread. Then using a crochet hook I hooked the yarn. It took a bit of twisting the hook back and forth to make the knit pickup and then a purl pickup but as you can see it did happen. You have to give yourself permission to believe it will happen. I just hope I don't slip any more threads. Because it took a lot of concentration and putting a lot of dollars into the cussing jar.

Jessi and Nate stopped by this morning and we played with the dogs. It was sure nice to see you Jessica, oh nice to see Nate and Chrissy too.

Tonight Terry, the kids and I watched Over the Hedge. This movie is so cute and funny. Go read the plot summaries, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327084/plotsummary

The squirrel reminded us of Penny and the huge dog yelling PLAY PLAY reminded us of Midget. So if you see the movie you will know what two of our dogs are like.

I did 2 minutes on the cross trainer this morning and 15 minutes on the exercise bike. I did it while watching JAG. And after lunch Terry took me to the commissary. I needed my sunglasses today, it was cloudy but bright. It is still very wet outside but not raining.

Have a lovely weekend.

Oct26

Good morning, here it is morning again. Yesterday was exhausting, I'm glad for a new day. Steffi went with Jenny to see a counselor. Someone gave her prescription medication at school and she's turning it in to the principal. It is a crazy scary world we live in. I love you Steffi. You kids are the light in my life, the air that I breathe.

It still hurts my eyes using the computer. I guess those ulcers I had really did a number on me. At least it's been cloudy outside so it doesn't hurt so much being outside. It is not raining now, but everything is wet from the humidity. It is lovely being wet!!

The kids had McDonald's for dinner and Terry had a test at college for Geology, it was a very quick test. When he came home he and I went on a date to Wendy's and we went to Big Lots to see what it is about. That was the first time I'd been there, they have a lot of Christmas decorations but barely any yarn.

I did try several times to start a poncho on the yellow kk loom but the yarn is so thin it makes dropping loops very easy. Dropped loops mean ripping the whole thing off the loom and starting over. It's good to practice this garter stitch trick though. I'm loving the speed I am doing these non projects.
http://decoraccentsinc.com/garterstitchtip.html

I better go wake up Nick and get this day started. Nick had a field trip yesterday to Caddo Career Center. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up. Cool.

We might go get some groceries today during Terry's lunch. He went to the gym this morning. I wish I could go too but I want to be here to wake up the kids. Wouldn't 2 of me come in handy? One of me could go to the gym and be healthy and the other could eat donuts with the kids, heehee.

I could not sign into blogger last night so I didn't update, which is ok, I enjoyed the rest. Steffi and I sat on the couch, I was knitting she was drawing. I made chicken and cheese jambalaya for dinner, Terry cut up the chicken for me. I added a can of peas and we also had ears of corn, it was yummy and a very 'sweep the floor' kind of dinner which I love. I will make soup with the leftovers. I was really glad to eat especially after how sore my stomach felt. I wonder what it was I ate the other day to get so sick to my stomach? I was ready to go to the ER it hurt so bad and I thought I was going to pass out at the grocery store from the pain.

Enough of the whining, after dinner we went had FEN, forced entertainment night and I mean I literally had to drag them out the door, no one wanted to do anything. I wanted to go to the gym. It was rainy and cold and Terry said great night to go out. I said - sure getting in a car wreck is fun, hydroplaning is fun.
It occurred to me that I only drove a car about 12 years before my eyesight got so bad I gave up driving. I miss driving but I respect the fact that I don't want to cause an accident or hurt my children.

We did survive the gym without incident and even picked up some snacks at the shopette afterwards. The kids and Terry played racquetball and I walked less than a mile on the indoor track by myself. I was just finishing up and wondering how I was going to get down the stairs by myself when suddenly I saw Steffi standing by the stairs and I was so happy to see her I didn't see that she was crying. Terry had hit her on the head with the racquetball. Poor little girl. She is ok. We sat on the couch and watched the boys play a bit. Steffi told me about a dream her friend had about a boy in cowboy boots. I won't tell the rest. lol.

The play Steffi saw was Peter Pan and she enjoyed it. Rachel, her friend, worked the lights. I thought that was exciting.

Nick has left for school, he didn't want breakfast but I managed to get him to eat a little. Steffi is not awake yet. Terry is awake, his oatmeal is in the microwave, guess I better go take care of the birds and turtles and get Steffi up.

I loomed 3 hats yesterday!! The orange and purple hat is the leftover yarn from the other day. Tangerine Bolche and Light and Lofty purple crush. The red hats are Yarn Bee Fleece Lite Cranberry one strand but pulled 2 loops over 1 and the white used 3 strands of yarn, 2 Lion Brand Jiffy white and 1 Yarn Bee Playful held together. The white rows were lucet cast on, purl knit purl for 7 rows, then ewrapped 2 rows of cranberry and knitted bottom loop and middle ewrap over the top ewrap. It made it thicker.

Ew I woke up sick this morning and the day went downhill from there. I am awake now trying to get some fluids. Dinner did not sit well with me. I did manage to stay up long enough this afternoon to go over Nick's homework with him and Science proved interesting. I did not know they figure India broke off Antarctica and floated up to Asia. Here is a picture of the Pangaea. The USA was also split in half though this image doesn't show it.
http://www.platetectonics.com/book/images/Pangaea.gif

Steffi went and watched a play tonight. More on that later.

Goodnight.

Oct23 6

Jessi said I could post these pictures of Nate's new rims. Here's a before and after. They are cool.

Had to wake up real early to get Nick off to school. He wanted his shower in the morning which was fine since Terry got up real early to go run with his squadron. I plan to go to bed early tonight, even though I took a long nap after the kids left for school.

After the kids got home from school we went through their day and I looked at everything they did in school. Now I am so smart, but they are smarter. Terry had school tonight. I'm the only one without class. boo.

I am looming a white brimmed hat. I am desperate for yarn so I'm using scraps, wish me luck that I'll be able to finish it. I'm nearly ready to start unraveling sweaters to get the yarn out of them.

I finished reading A Painted House tonight after I made dinner. The kids and I ate skillet grilled chicken, veggies and rice and we even ate at the table. Nick said I was treating him like a 4 year old, cause I served him his veggies. Hey I wanted him to eat them so I kept piling them on his plate.

Terry wants to watch a movie he picked up at the library named Winter Passing. And we really liked it though it was hard to understand for a long time. I love Ed Harris.

Good night and sweet dreams.

Oct22 6

Today had a rough start but I guess we got through it. Maybe some things will change around here.

We had lunch at McDonald's then went to Terry's work to start cleaning his office. Terry brought me home after a while so I could finish laundry. Nick stayed with me and we ended up falling asleep, me on the couch, him on the chair. Terry woke me at 5 and I made dinner which we ate at the table. Then we watched L&O CI for an hour.

We played Uno tonight. Steffi was the big winner. YAY Steffi. I found Midget and Shelly sleeping on my computer chair. There was no dirty laundry for them to sleep on.

The grind starts tomorrow so I better go get some sleep. Goodnight.

Oct21 2 1/2

Good morning, I have some cute pictures. I think Steffi took this picture. I'd do anything to see you smile bebe.

This is a scarf I finished today using YarnBee Fleece Lite. I really liked the color, Terry picked the yarn color. This was done 2 threads held as one on size 19 flat needles. the first stitch of every row was slipped as if to purl and all the other stitches were knit til I ran out of yarn.

Here's Terry and the kids playing Risk, cool huh??

Jessica and Nate stopped by, Nate has new rims and tires on his car, I don't have a picture, but they looked really cool.

We watched The Breakup. Gosh they fought horrible, but so many parts of the movie made us laugh at ourselves. Did you know Vince Vaughn was born on the same day as me? Only in the year 1970. I am 6 years older than him. The Vincent I liked in the movie though is Vincent D'Onofrio.

Steffi would like a poncho, we need to look at yarn and poncho styles. I am wearing the poncho Amy made for me. I love it so much, thank you Amy. I am wearing it and my ugly tangerine hat and I am toasty.

Terry and I went to the library. He picked out a funny book for me, a detective book with nursery rhyme characters. Brian is spending the night tonight. I'm off to finish reading A Painted House. I've read it before and enjoyed it.

Goodnight.

Oct20 7

Sharon looks awesome as Captain Hook!! I love it.

No one likes the hat I loomed today, boo. The yarn is
Lion Boucle tangerine and Red Heart Bright and Lofty purple crush. Note to self, on the green kk loom the brim - lucet cast on, 5 rows of knit purl knit to make the ribbing. 3 rows purple crush ewrapped, 1 row tangerine purled etc etc. Finished by doing 7 rows purple then decreased by moving the yarn from peg 1 over to peg 2, 3 to 4, etc all the way around, then knitted those off and used the gather method.

Steffi had a horrible report card. I really do care honey and don't know what to do. Terry and I certainly didn't agree on what to do. boooooo

Nick had an okay time on his field trip to the cemetary. I'm glad he came home and didn't stay.

Terry and I watched the movie Click tonight. Terry is like the guy in the movie except it's a computer game that is more important to him than his family. In the movie, the guy was obsessed with his job.

Tonight when we went to pick out the DVD's at Blockbuster Video, Terry noticed we were both wearing tshirts with the cdwg logo on them. I said how fruity is that? We both get dressed at different times and end up wearing matching clothes.

Dad don't tease me, I really do want more yarn.

That stinks about your internet Jessi. I know we are having a bit of slick with ours. The payments were going to the wrong account, it's still not straightened out.

Oct19 9

Hola!! today was cold, a good day for napping and I took full advantage of that. Nick left for school in good shape this morning and came home cold. He rode his bike to school. He also played around on my bike this afternoon while I used the leaf blower on all the haycorns in the carport. Penny sure likes to eat them.

Terry made lunch today all by himself, pita pizzas. They are so good, he's a good cook. He didn't even ask for help, just woke me up when they were ready. Yummy hubby.

And Steffi made dinner all by herself, orange chicken with veggies and rice and boy was that good. I was sitting there thinking I have to cook dinner when suddenly Steffi handed me a plate of dinner!! What a shock. But now I am thinking what is wrong with my nose that I didn't smell 2 meals cooking? I think the infection in my sinuses is beating me.

Let's talk about yarn. I decided to use up the orange yarn I don't like and I still don't like but there it is, use it or don't buy more yarn. I had some purple yarn sprinkled with orange so I figures I could make a scarf. The purple yarn I had put two strands together as one and wound them up into one ball, it's easier for me to loom if I wind the balls up with 2 threads held as one. Then the balls don't get all twisted together. So anyway unballing that ball created a huge tangled mess that I spent hours untangling, wondering why oh why oh why, but I am persistant if nothing else and finally mananged with all 70 pounds of Midget sitting on my lap complaining to get the yarn untangled and balled up.

I tried making the scarf on the loom but it was too skinny using just the orange yarn or too thick if I used one purple and one orange yarn held together as one yarn, so I decided to try it on size 15 knitting needles holding one purple and one orange yarn together as one.
That turned out way too thick and um well, UGLY.

So I tried using just orange yarn on size 11 knitting needles and that was ugly too. I can't go smaller than size 11 needles, I can't hold smaller. Now I am getting tired so I took a nap and tried to think what to do with this yarn, besides bury it or hand it to the dogs to play with. "Oops sorry dear, the dogs ate the yarn...."

Terry woke me up for lunch and I had a plan. I decided to loom a hat, with many false starts, like 6 times I ended up starting over, I now finally have 5 rows of orange, 2 strands held as one, and I made ribbing, knit, purl, knit for 34 pegs. And I have 3 rows of purple which are just ewraps. Tomorrow I will work on it some more. I want to keep making stripes. Can you see the ribbing?

I sort of watched Corpse Bride with Steffi. And tomorrow Nick has a field trip. Sorry I missed you online today Dad. Hey Jessica, where are you?

Gmail SPAM folder almost 1900 spam emails!!!!!

Shelley has no where to sleep but in the dirty laundry.

Midget has no where to sleep but on the rest of the dirty laundry.

Penny is....

Penny gives Kookie a nose earring.

Susie has no where to sit but in the closet.

I hear a hot shower calling me, ha.
Goodnight.

Oct18 8

Yah, I was so excited to wake up this morning, that I overslept!! Nick almost missed the bus. Oops. I was thinking about what to do about the snowman's scarf. It was just not turning out right working it on the loom, it was too hard to knit one, and Steffi didn't want to crochet one.

I finally decided to make an i-cord using only 2 pegs on the loom. I also made a pompom that looks almost normal, happy me. I made this snowman on the blue KK loom. He needs eyes and more body stuffing. Here is the pattern.
http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/loomed-snowmen.html

And here is the blue wrist warmer. I wish you could see how it sparkles.

I checked the fish tank last night, the ammonia is 0. Cool. I'm not sure how many fish are in the tank. Four or 5 mollies and the 3 Electric yellow cichlids. I had to feed the turtles separately this morning. The female won't come out of hiding til the light turns on. The light is on a timer.

All is quiet here, the kids had good days at school except someone stole Nick's gym shirt, boo. I talked to my dad a couple minutes on IM. And Steffi tells me Homecoming is Nov 4th. She's really looking forward to going.

Steffi just brought me some cookies so I'm going to go eat them and read in bed. Terry needs to do situps tonight.

I'll be working on knitting a scarf tomorrow on the knitting needles.

Hugs Goodnight.

Oct17 6

Yeah today was a good day, though something Terry did while we were sleeping scared me and I couldn't fall back asleep. Around 2am he put his hand on my forehead which woke me up. He didn't do anything, just held it there a minute then took it off. I could not fall back asleep. Sometimes I wish I could hear again so I could just ask what are you doing? I was like, hmm I must be snoring, maybe he's trying to cover my mouth and put his hand on my forehead instead. I asked him this morning why he did it and he said I was so hot he was worried. Aww sweet. I feel pretty chirpy today, didn't even take a nap, WOW. I was so excited working on the knifty knitter that I didn't want to put it down. I have just learned how to do knit and purl stitches and wanted to make a ribbing. Which I did make, but ran out of yarn so I stopped. Then I wanted to learn how to do a lucet cast on stitch which are less loopy then ewrap cast on stitches. You're just gonna have to trust me on that. Here is the site for purl and knit loom movies.
http://decoraccentsinc.com/knittingloommovies.html
And here is the pattern to lucet cast on and make an eyeglass case.
http://gracielandcrafts.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/04/eye_glass_case.html
And here is my eye glass case using 2 strand Wool Ease Chunky Charcoal. NEATO, I love it!! Thanks to Graciela for the pattern.

I also made a shiny blue wrist warmer. I'll take a picture tomorrow. Tomorrow I will finish up a snowman. I am making his scarf now. As you can tell Terry took me to get some yarn at Hobby Lobby. Plus my yarn order from Smiley's Yarn arrived, but the chunky yarn is very thin. Oh well at least it was cheap. I will be ordering more yarn from them, and giving Terry a run to Hobby Lobby break.

We also went to PetSmart and bought dogfood for all five dogs. SusieQ must have her special old lady food, soon Kookie will need to eat it too. Penny is not eating puppy food anymore. I bought Midget a new collar, leash and harness. She is all dressed for fall.

I am so tired I'm wired, so I guess I better go find a relaxer.

Goodnight.

Oct16 8

It sprinkled last night and this morning. It was very muggy and steamy. I just wanted to sleep all day which surprised me since I'm back on the green powder which perked me right up last time I used it. I did finish 2 wrist warmers today and just practiced the purl stitch. I felt a little better after I turned on the A/C.
But I am tired now so I'm going to bed.
This site is cool for looming information.

Goodnight.

Oct15 6

Whoo hoo what a day, I worked on crafts all day, except when we went to the grocery store. I didn't do laundry today, I quit. We had a storm tonight, the cable went out and then the power went out. Lucky for us dinner was ready, and the power came back on soon as we finished dinner.

Here is a wrist warmer I made today.

And here are the turtles in a tower. The female likes the heat lamp. Maybe I need 2 lamps, but I think it might raise the tank temperature too high. I do like the new filter, I like how it spills into the water, and the water is really clean. YAH! Plus the filter is outside the tank. Tomorrow I plan to top off their tank rather than do a complete water change.

We watched a freaky movie last night named The Good Mother. I love Angie Harmon but she was physco!!

Oh my dad walked a 5K relay in 47 minutes!! Good job Dad!!

I'm gonna go read my book before the power goes out again. Looks like this storm will last a couple more hours.

Goodnight.

Oct14 6

I got so busy working on some java script, I forgot my blog.

We took Nick today to get a haircut, a coat, 2 uniforms and new shoes. Now he is set up for winter at school. He was picky and determined to buy certain things, but he was not rude, he just knew what he wanted and luckily we found it all easily.

I bought Steffi a Halloween wig as a joke. She said she looks EMO. What is that?

We went to Hooters on the Boardwalk for dinner. We played truth or dare before the food came. Steffi and I had crab legs, yum. I am so excited, Outdoor World has 2 alligators in the pit outside. Too bad I didn't have the camera, they were neat.

Terry bought me some yarn so let me go finish the wrist warmer I'm working on.

Good night Steffi, Goodnight Casey. Goodnight Nick! Goodnight Jessi. Goodnight Dad.

Oct13 7

ooooh it's Friday the 13th but we had a good day. It was nice to sleep til 9 and it was even nicer going to bed, Steffi had made the bed. I mean I walked into the bedroom all weary and thinking I have to make the bed, and when I turned on the light the bed was made. I could have wept to have such a sweet gift given to me.

I knitted a pair of booties today. I love this pattern with a no holes heel. Just split a wool ease skein of yarn into two balls and used them up.

Steffi is crocheting a baby blanket for her alien baby. Nick is fine, just loafed all day. He's getting a hair cut tomorrow. Terry couldn't run at the gym tonight, his ankle hurts. He is going to the doctor on Monday.

We watched the movie Subject Two.

Plot Summary for
Subject Two

High atop the world in his remote mountain cabin, Dr. Franklin Vick is engaged in highly unethical medical research. His field of expertise: resurrection. His test subject: Adam Schmidt - a troubled medical student who volunteers to be killed again and again in the name of science. Together, the doctor and his new assistant work in snowbound isolation, perfecting their death tactics before unleashing their discovery to the world. But there's a problem: Death has side effects...

YIKES and cool creepy.

I'm off to finish reading Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Terry found me a large print version, it's hard to put down.

Goodnight.

Oct12 61/2

Steffi is so excited about these tickets. We are going to have a blast!!

Oh boy, drug the baseball bat knitting needles out and knitted a scarf using Yarn Bee Playful, 2 threads as one on size 19 needles, 12 stitches. It's so soft.

No school tomorrow for Steffi and Nick. Poor Nick froze today in gym class, they are playing football outside. He needs some sweats. I hope to get him a coat this weekend and new tennis shoes. Steffi said she didn't want any new clothes. Steffi got a 97% on her vocabulary test today. Terry got a 98% on his Geology test from last week. YAH!!

Goodnight Sweet dreams.

Oct11 6 1/2

You are not going to believe this, Terry gave Steffi and me our Christmas presents, it's 2 tickets to the Def Leppard concert in Shreveport. They are our favorite band and in case you forgot they have a lot of meaning in my life cause I liked the band a lot before I lost my hearing. Anyway, their drummer had an accident and lost his arm, but did the band let him quietly suffer? Did they tell him, sorry mate, no arm, no drum, goodbye? No, they had special drums made for him, they didn't give up on him just cause he was different. Anyway we're so excited we can hardly breathe, it's a dream come true.

Oct10 10

It was cold and cloudy today with a bit of mist. Surely it rained somewhere, maybe over by Jessica.

I finished the stocking today. All I need is the yarn for the rest, I'm happy with the prototype. Note to self, instructions are on Oct9's post.

I also made a hat for Nick. I'm calling it a seagull cap cause the design looks like little seagulls. Just stitched every other peg with white for two rows, alternating pegs, very easy. green loom, wool ease yarn.

Also made another wrist warmer for Steffi but ripped it, as it was just an experiment. note to self - 30 rows, 25 pegs, black and pink sparkle yarn held as one.

Steffi cooked chicken wings for dinner and around 8 poor Terry had to go to the gym. He did not beat his time from 2 days ago but he did sups and pups before he ran so I think he did fabulous.

Terry is starting to worry that I'm sleeping too much. He said either go to the doctor or get the green powder.

Speaking of tired.... Goodnight. God Bless Eileen. Good luck Bob.

Oct9 12 1/2

I am so excited, I made a wrist warmer today!! Steffi is modeling it for me.

I am making a large stocking now, just have to brace myself and do the heel. I have a tendency to unravel when the heel has holes in it. Just so I don't forget the pattern it's

cast on 31 on red kk loom
ewrap 20 rows with white, cut tail
bring up to cuff but before KO change yarn color and ewrap row and KO both white stitches over color change yarn.
ewrap 20 rows

The heel flap instructions.

ewrap 16 pegs 4 rows like flat panel
put peg 16 on 15 ewrap to 15 and KO
put peg 1 on 2 ewrap to 2 and KO
15 on 14 ewrap and KO
2 on 3 ewrap and KO
14 on 13 ewrap and KO
3 on 4 ewrap and KO
pull stitches back on pegs and

The original pattern.

ewrap 20 rows
gather and finish

Terry was off work today and made 5 alarm chili. I had his milder version, I'm glad he makes 2 versions of chili. Nick ate the hot stuff, Steffi ate something else. We had to go to the store and get an onion. We also bought donuts. I made the comment at the checkout asking if we had at least bought a onion to go with all this other junk and that made someone laugh. It's so true you can't go to the store and just buy one item.

We picked up my bike this afternoon, yeah I can go riding. The weather is so perfect for it.

Here's Nick with my favorite Tshirt. It says My Mommy thinks I'm special. He picked this shirt out. How cute. Try not to notice his curls or he'll bite my head off. LOL

That's it, I'm tired and want to go read. Loved our chat today Dad. Goodnight.
