Ok, so going out to eat last night wasn't the best idea but I only picked at a few bites of food and enjoyed it. I should have stuck with only watermelon, heehee. I did get sick when we got home and that kinda hurt. Back on juice this morning and loving it.

It was really nice having Terry home last night. I fell asleep with his hand on my back. He found the cutest orange cones for each of us, Jessi's says I Hope I Grow Up To Be The Person My Dog Thinks I Am, Steffi's says Drama Queen, Nick's says To Err is Human, To Really Mess Things Up Requires A Computer and my cone has the sign language handshape for I Love You. Terry really got it right for each of our favorite things. He also bought me a tiny teddy bear that looks alot like the teddy bear he bought me before he left. AWWW.

We spent all day doing stuff. They all got haircuts at the mall and look fantastic. Terry has ring around the hairline from his amazing tan. The ladies at the salon thought Nick was 16 years old, he's only 13, he's so TALLLLLL. I ate a pretzel and some chicken wings. Bad me.

Terry IMed me last night, I did the happy dance.

Yeah I cleaned two kitchen counters today and did a ton of laundry!!

Other than cleaning and straightening and making my bed - today has been really quiet. Steffi helped alot with the laundry.

Casey is spending the night and helped with the laundry too.

Day 3 Juice fast - I'm hungry but I think it's cause I am looking up recipes online. I am craving fried chicken and macaroni and cheese.

I didn't go to the park tonight. Steffi and Casey wanted to go by themselves. I didn't go on a walk either, my knee hurt all day and I don't want to push it. We are just vegging around waiting for Terry to come home.

It is very hot today and as you can see I've lost 2 pounds on the juice fast. Is it water weight? I don't think so cause I've been losing weight steadily for the last 3 years. Surprisingly I am not even hungry and have had way less cravings. I even cooked the kids lunch today and didn't feel one stomach pinch!

We have not heard from Terry for 2 days. After the letter from his Mom to 'please get Terry to think about his health' I am really worried. Sadly Terry is one of those :You'll see me when I get back: type of people and we just have to pretend we don't care that he doesn't care, and not feel like he's forgotten us. We'll be happy to see him on Sunday, right?

Floyd Landis really has me insane. I want to believe in him. He reminds me of Terry in that if he really wants something he goes and gets it, but other times he let's me down. Funny huh?

Steffi caught a bag of popcorn on fire!!!!!! We need a new microwave.

10pm Today is almost over, yeah. I've done good on my juice fast, even cooked the kids chicken and rice for dinner. It smelled so good I was so tempted to grab some. I'm glad I forgot to cook the corn, the smell of corn cooking would have done me in. The kids enjoyed dinner and I drank juice. Stephanie and I watched a movie named Save the Last Dance. Good movie to watch with her about young love and dancing and reaching your dreams even when you think you can't. Nate and Jessica stopped by on their way to the movies. They were going to see Monster House. I wonder how it went. Nick has been playing on the computer all day but he did do his chores and bring out his laundry. He's going to miss the computer when school starts. Yesterday it rained and today it was too hot to go to the park, boo.

I was craving something spicy and fried so bad today and remembered something my ex mother in law used to cook but could not remember the name of the recipe. Luckily my friend Tommie knew what it was, it's Scrapple.

2 cups pork, cooked and diced finely (but not ground as is usual)
3 quarts of broth from cooked meat
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon sage
1/8 teaspoon marjoram
Freshly ground pepper
3 cups cornmeal
1 cup barley

Boil pork in 4 quarts water; drain (keeping 3 quarts of broth). Chop meat, but do not make it too fine. Bring reserved broth to a boil and add seasonings. Stir cornmeal and barley into boiling mixture along with the meat. Cook slowly in a heavy pot for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour into loaf pans and chill. When cold, slice 1/4-inch slices and fry in hot fat until quite brown and crisp (most scrapple is not crisp enough). Serve with tomato sauce and Blue Flower Omelet or alone with maple syrup.

Doesn't sound too healthy but I have the fried food craving thing going on. We rarely ever eat fried food, maybe I'm remembering when I was a teenager and Gramma used to fry coffee cake slices in bacon grease for me. That was some sort of comfort food and I'm in a comfort food sort of mood. She spoiled me so much and I never gained a pound.

After the movie I sorted laundry and put a load of socks in to soak overnight. We have tons of laundry to do and Casey is coming over tomorrow. So we will be busy.

LONDON (AP) -- Tour de France champion Floyd Landis tested positive for high levels of testosterone during the race, his Phonak team said Thursday on its Web site, raising questions about his victory.

The team suspended Landis, pending results of the backup "B" sample of his drug test, just four days after Landis stood on the victory podium on the Champs-Elysees, succeeding seven-time winner Lance Armstrong as an American winner in Paris.

The Swiss-based Phonak team said it was notified by the UCI on Wednesday that Landis' sample showed "an unusual level of testosterone/epitestosterone" when he was tested after stage 17 of the race last Thursday.

3pm - Nate has taken me to PetSmart to buy a light for the turtles. I feel free when I ride in his car. He let the windows down and the wind blowing in was so great!! I love his little red sports car. I cleaned the turtle tank after he brought me home. What a nice young man Jessica is dating. He opened the car door for me, helped me in and out of the car and even held my hand in the store.

4pm - Nick has gone to Nate's house and Steffi has gone to Sam aka Samantha's house so I am here with the critters and craving something salty. Today I started the juice fast though so eating is out. I drank tea this morning and 2 bottles of lemon juice, palm syrup and ceyenne pepper mixed together with filtered water. All week I've drank lemon juice, maple syrup, and ceyenne pepper mixed together with filtered water instead of breakfast and lunch but I did eat dinner and some blueberries or strawberries for a snack. Tonight I'm skipping dinner and snack and just doing the juice. I like doing juice fasts, they feel good.

It rained so heavy today the TV got knocked out. It's back on now so I think I'll go see what's on.

Today on TV I saw the most amazing story about Mark Tatum He nearly lost his life to a rare fungus and the show was about how the doctors had given him a prosthetic face, just amazing.

The juice fast went very well today even though I was on a munchie binge for a couple hours I managed to get through it. I wasn't hungry, just munchy. The kids were very helpful and easy to please so dinner wasn't a big deal.

5pm - Sam came over to visit for a while and the girls played dressup. We watched TV and didn't go to the park cause it is too wet.

11pm - I'm off to bed. Sweet dreams.

I stayed awake til 3AM last night reading the book The Fifteen Streets by Catherine Cookson. It's about people who are poor. Here is a review of the book from amazon.com.

The story is very touching and gripping and sad. I've read it before but enjoyed it again. I gave it to Steffi to read. Anyhow, Steffi woke me up to let me know she was leaving for camp way before I was ready to wake up. Obviously it was not my morning to wake up early, so much for sleeping late all summer long. Nick stayed home and slept, too.

Steffi came home around noon, by then I had fed the dogs, fish, turtles, birds and Nick and not in that order. I usually feed the dogs first to get them out from underfoot. Steffi ate some rice and I had some Irish Oatmeal mixed with a little apple juice, yum.

Terry IMed me today but I was away from the computer, boo. He then called and Steffi interpreted. Not the same as hearing his voice or seeing his voice but nice to know he's okay especially after the sad news about his cousin Frank dying suddenly and very young. Terry's Mom emailed me today. My Dad IMed me. Sierra sent Steffi a birthday card through the snail mail, with no return address, 'Was it a letter bomb??' No it was a birthday card for Steffi, how sweet. Thanks Sierra. Sierra also IMed me today so now I fully believe that Trillian is set up properly and that adults can talk to me. Now if only I could spend more time on my computer....

The kids and I had fish and fries for dinner and then went to the park. Walking by the bayou was nice. It's really cloudy, I wonder if/hope it will rain. It is 11pm and the kids kicked me off the TV. Steffi and I were watching Law and Order, now they are watching cartoons.

Today was a quiet day. I'm sort of bummed. I would like to see an email from Terry but I was silly to get my hopes up yes?

I woke up Nick and Steffi this morning, Steffi was awake just in bed daydreaming about boys she said. Nick didn't want to go to fencing camp so I sat outside with Steffi til her ride showed up, then came in for a long nap on the couch. I slept til noonish when she got home. She told me Andy is bringing her home tomorrow so she'll be later than normal. So nice friends can give her a ride to and fro.

This afternoon the kids played on their computers and I watched TV. I missed 3 IM's from my dad, boo.

We went to the park after dinner and played on the merry-go-round, the slide and the swings.

I have just finished cleaning off my desk. I will look into the bill paying tomorrow. I cheated on my diet today and ate some popcorn. tsk tsk, hee. I did ride the stationary bike for 40 minutes. I really miss walking, I think tomorrow morning I'll walk.

PI HOMEWORK



Today was one of those really long boring days. The kids had fencing camp in the morning and after they left I went back to bed and slept til noon. The heat light burnt out on the turtle tank and will need replaced. I was going to change the water in the tank today, but will have to wait. The water might still be coming out of the faucet hot but if the water from the hose has cooled down any then the turtles will be uncomfy without a heat lamp to warm them up.

I poked around under my desk today to see if the networking cord was lose. Nick's computer keeps unhooking. There are too many cords to tell what goes where, oh and too much dust!!

We had TV dinners tonight and Nick and I had Velveeta shells and cheese for dinner tonight.

The kids and I went to the park tonight, it was kinda hot but nice to go outside in the fresh air. Nick didn't stay too long but Steffi and I walked down to the bayou and sat on the grass. We talked about school starting and what she'd like to do for her birthday. I suggested a girl/boy party where we go out for pizza and presents, then drop them all off at the skating rink and pick them up later. The girls could then spend the night. Steffi is all excited. I have to talk to Dad first, he has to listen to the noise.



School starts in 16 days and Steffi is very excited. I plan to make a lot of flash cards for both her and Nick to help them study.

I miss Terry.

It's an old adage, but it's true. Time heals all. There's no problem that won't get better with passing time, and some care and attention.

I weighed 178 this morning.

Steffi snuck into bed with me last night. I'm not sure she had much room considering how much bed Midget takes up. I didn't wake up til 11 this morning. I did sleep better just very heavy. Maybe the rainy cooler weather is doing double time on my sinuses and keeping me sleepy.

Jessica and Nate came over today, she was crying a little. Nate didn't hear her ask for some lemonade. She just had an upset tummy and wasn't feeling so good. She ate some oatmeal later in the afternoon. While Jessica and Nate were here we played a round of UNO which Jessi won and it was all my fault, said Nate, heehee. Nick played on the computer almost all day. I wish they had computers at his school, he'd get good grades.

Stef and I watched Law and Order CI tonight. I've had this little thing for Vincent D'Onofrio ever since seeing the movie Full Metal Jacket.


I made chicken rice and corn for dinner, yum. We ate every drop of it.

Steffi tried to mow the grass this afternoon but the mower kept shutting off. It'll just have to wait til Terry get home. I cleaned up the long stretcher bars to get them ready to start working on the cross stitch for my Aunt Pat. I can hardly wait to start. My vision has been clearer today so that is a good thing.

I'm off to watch the Tour which I already know Floyd won.

I'm gonna miss not having any cycling to motivate me at night to ride the stationary bike. Maybe I can start walking again now that the temperature is below 100 degrees.

Funny Stuff, how to entertain your dog.

So this morning I was watching the tour and fell asleep on the couch when suddenly Jessica is waking me up and asking did I want to hang out with them. After I found out Floyd won the yellow jersey we went for a drive. First we looked at cars in Shreveport, then audi's in Bossier City. We stopped by the BC mall and went to the game store. The cops recovered Nate and his roommates stolen X-Box. cool. After that we walked by Kay's Jewelers and Nate picked up a flyer and showed us a pretty heart necklace he liked. We walked over to the food court and Nate left for a minute, I figured to get the necklace. After a long time he came back and he had a Kay's bag which he handed to Jessica. I figured it was the necklace so I was excited, but when she opened the wrapper it was definitely a ring box. Jessica started to open the box and tears ran down her face. Anyway we were all pretty excited.

Once we got home, Casey's dad brought Steffi home and brought us an old TV for the bird room, THANKS Casey.

I wasn't feeling so chipper this afternoon and napped on the couch on and off. Terry called and Steffi translated while I talked on the speaker phone, that was neat. Terry said the weather is great and they start riding tomorrow, he hasn't seen Lance Armstrong. I hope he does.

Steff and I ate chicken wings for dinner and Nick had Ravioli.

Omg! Today Nate and I decided to take my mom and brother out to look at cars and go to the mall, just to hang out. Well anyhow, while we were at the mall, we went to Game Stop to find Roller Coaster Tycoon for X-Box, YES, THEY DO HAVE IT FOR X-BOX, it has a cheat for it. Well, they didnt have it, so I was like, oh poo.
So I asked Nate if we could get something to eat, and he was like ok, we walked by Kay's Jewlery and he picked up a brochure and pointed it out to me and my mom. We both liked it, and as my mom was looking at the brochure, Nate and I got Subway. We sat down to eat and Nate said, "Hey, do you want me to get the game for the PC instead?" I said, "Sure, ok."
He kissed me goodbye and headed to the Game Stop. My mom and I started talking and she asked, "So when's the big day?" I rolled my eyes and replied, "I dont know"
After a good 5 10 minutes, Nate shows up and said, "They didnt have the game, but they had this" He sets down a Kay Jewlery bag. I smiled knowing he got me the necklace. It was wrapped up perfectly with a cute little bow. As I opened the box, it wasnt the size a necklace would be in, and being a girl my heart races and my eyes start burning with tears. I opened it and there it was, the most Beautiful ring I've ever seen! I will put a picture of it up soon, I just dont have time today.
There are three hearts on it: Past, Present, and Future. I told Nate thats how wedding rings should be made, it makes sense. Anyhow, just thought I should share it with someone. If you want to hear a diffrent side go to:

WOW, Terry woke me up at 5AM and Jessi and Nate showed up at 5:30 to give us a ride on base. Steff wasn't too chirpy this morning but she and Nick did wake up to hug Dad goodbye and then we were off. Nate had never been to that side of the base. Our base has many sides. Jessi took a picture of the guys packing the trailer. And then we left, heehee. I'm so glad Nate drove the van home for me. I feel better with it home even though I can't drive it.

At home Steffi was getting ready to bake cookies for fencing camp. Luke's dad picked her and Nick up and took them to camp. Thank you Luke's dad. I stayed awake long enough to water the front yard and watch the Tour, no one changed position in the standing so I'm looking forward to tomorrow's time trials. I read Floyd Landis's biography on olntv.com and he said his hobby is his family. I thought that was awesome.

This afternoon was kinda lazy. I did manage to load Nick's car racing game and get the extra bits into the right folder. YEAH. I still need to do a lot of installing programs on my computer but I'm glad all the computers got reformatted.

Steffi is spending the night at Casey's house. Boo I miss you Steffi! I was thinking today about when the kids were little and Terry would go TDY, they would climb into bed with me and I'd have all three of them comforting me.

Nick and I took Midget and Shelley to walk around the soccer field after dinner, it was hot but the dogs were glad to go. Tomorrow I'll have to torture Steffi and make her walk. She hates walking she says. While Nick and I were doing the dishes Terry called, he is at billeting and that is all I know.

So I'm off to watch the preshow of the bike race since I missed it this morning. Goodnight from Nick, me and the dogs!

The Rabbit of Seville

July20

It's been a quiet and cool day. I woke up at 11am and it was only 89 degrees so felt good taking the dogs outside. I even left them out a while.

Terry came home without the kids after fencing camp, they went to Chris's house for an afternoon in the pool. Terry had to run to his aerobics today and dropped me off where Jessica babysits. That was a lot of fun as Brooke wrote me notes. Imagine a 3rd grader writing with a crayon, it was precious. I saved all her notes and a coloring page from both Ashley and Brooke. Kelsey sat on my lap a long time and kept me company, and Jessi's puppy Chrissy tried to share her bone with me, yum, ha.

Around 3pm Terry picked me up and we were off to get his bike from the bike shop and to the pet store for dog food and a stop to Sonic cause I hadn't eaten all day. DUMB. We stopped in at Chris's house to pick up Steff and Nick and it was a slice of Heaven there. Pool, trees, cool breeze, fresh baked cookies. I could have stayed forever. But we wanted to see the bike race tonight and what an AMAZING job by Floyd Landis!!

Jessica was here when we got home and I need to go kick her off the kids computer so I can start the reformat. Terry is packing and getting ready.

Wow it is so hot, I can't believe it. I think we moved to Dune and no one told us. Surely we have two suns baking our neighborhood? It is 5pm and the feels like temperature is 104!!

I woke up at 8a.m. today but Terry and the kids had already left for fencing camp so I took the dogs outside and then fed the birds, turtles and fish. Then watered the front yard and got everything wet, street, driveway, sidewalk, front porch. The grass is still dry, heehee. After that I took a nap on the couch and Terry woke me up when they came home around 1pm. When the dogs settled down Kookie fell asleep on a stuffed bunny. Aww.



After lunch we were off to Goodwill for bargains and we found some great clothes for Steff, a button down shirt for Nick, a book for Terry and a sun dress for me, plus an adorable teddy bear. We actually sat on a couch they had for sale and watched Steff fly through the racks. She finds great clothes just snap snap snap. After an hour we dropped Steff off at home and went to the commissary. Now we have enough food for 2 weeks. The kids helped me put it away while Terry jumped in the pool.

I told Terry to clean off his desk before he leaves cause Penny will snoop and eat everything on it. And the proof??



Terry wants to take the dig camera to Iowa, I said he'll need to ask Steff cause she's the one who uses it most. If he takes it, I'll have to post old pictures. I've got a few.

Tomorrow I hope to go visit with Jessica at Jenny's house. Terry has to run his yearly aerobic, bleck. Today on the way to check out the trailer they are storing the bikes in, I asked are you excited to go to Iowa and he said yes, and I said TSK! and he said what??? I said well I just had this vision like I am a dog and oh boy oh boy Daddy's got the key's! We're going for a ride, but instead Daddy drives off and leaves me looking sad faced out the window.

I love going on car trips, wish I could go to Iowa.

Terry has fencing tonight, Nick didn't want to go. Jessi surprised us by stopping by and staying til Nate picked her up at 11. We had a great time watching a lightning storm and playing with the dogs. We also wrote some of Steffi's songs to cd's and Terry will reformat their computer tomorrow. He's going to be busy tomorrow.

WOW to Floyd for picking up 10 seconds yesterday and winning the yellow jersey back. It's anyone's ride. But Floyd didn't keep the yellow jersey today. Good job #058 - Mickael RASMUSSEN (DEN) with his emotional win! I did ride the stationary bike 35 minutes tonight and it was tough after a week of no exercising. Jessica mentioned tonight that it looked like I lost weight, YEAH!!

It's 2 in the morning and the temperature has dropped 30 degrees and feels wonderful. Busy day tomorrow, better go to bed.

I wanted to start a diary while Terry is TDY so hopefully I will keep this updated. It's now Tuesday and he leaves Friday at 7am. Right now he and Steffi are at Dr Borders to get her tooth checked. This afternoon we are supposed to go shopping for school clothes. There is a lot of stuff left to do around here before Terry leaves.
I've decided to post before I go to bed so I don't forget how the day went along.
We took Nick and Steffi to the BX and dropped off Terry's uniforms to get the patches sewn on. He will pick them up when he gets back July 31st.
For school we bought socks, t-shirts etc and 5 uniform shirts for Nick. They didn't have slacks for him so we went to WalMart.

We stopped and ate dinner at Mr Gatti's, like buffet, tasted good but I wasn't feeling well and couldn't seem to get into eating.

At Wally World we found lots of shirts and jeans for Steffi. Terry found a 7 dwarfs t-shirt for me. It says Whistling Woodsmen Tour on the front and on the back it says

I borrowed one of the shopping go carts and I just love riding around in them. I wish I had one for real. I did get too hot at the store and was glad to go home.

Aunt Pat sent me some prezzies in the mail today, a cross stitch of Thomas Kinkade I'm going to fix it up and send it back to her, she's making a quilt. There were also 2 surprise kits of a lady bug and a butterfly that I can hardly wait to tear into.
Time to to watch the tour. I still might be mad at Floyd.
